College of Chapters is an intense, interactive program for collegiate chapter Commanders and additional chapter representatives focused on chapter management, leadership, and core competencies. The curriculum, centered on developing the competencies of chapter Commanders, is designed to ensure each officer gains the knowledge and skills necessary to strengthen his chapter while building a network of support and experience he can call upon throughout his tenure.
The program features topical experts and a strong emphasis on best practices delivered by an experienced faculty of staff, alumni, and advisors. Officers leave the College of Chapters prepared to lead their chapter with Love, Honor, and Truth and to advance the honorable mission of the Legion of Honor. The 2026 College of Chapters took place January 3-6, 2026.
What did you gain from your College of Chapters experience?
Sean Mitcham (Northwestern State) – Commander – “I learned how to properly run my chapter. I came in very confused and unsure of exactly what I needed to do. I knew my chapter needed change, but I didn’t know where to find the resources I needed. College of Chapters has helped me become the Commander I need to be. I’m excited to return and share my vision with my chapter.”
Collin Lough (Jacksonville) – Lt. Commander – “I feel much more prepared going back to my chapter and have a much clearer idea of how to accomplish my goals. I also feel much more familiar with the resources that are available to me.”
Nick DeHaven (Purdue) – Lt. Commander – “I now understand what differentiates me as a leader and how I can build on those attributes, especially the qualities that make my leadership style different from my Commander and other brothers.”
