Spears Family Epsilon Epsilon Center for Excellence

Spears Family Epsilon Epsilon Center for Excellence

Numerous chapters make a pilgrimage to the place of our founding an important element of their candidate education program. Unfortunately, the current facilities on our Headquarters campus are subpar and inadequate to provide proper housing and leadership development space for groups making the trip to Lexington. This, coupled with a vision of a facility capable of hosting a summer leadership development program, led to the initial challenge pledge made by Dr. William Spears (Epsilon Epsilon, Oklahoma State) and met by alumni of his chapter. Additional funds are needed. Won’t you help us build the necessary resources to construct a facility to be used to develop more ethical leaders for the future?

The current building plan incorporates several meeting and breakout rooms for leadership development programs and space for up to 75 overnight visitors. In addition, plans include space for preservation of Sigma Nu’s archives and treasured historical objects. A lack of appropriate space has led to the storage of records and objects dating back to our founding in the basement of our Headquarters building which lacks the appropriate controls to prevent damage due to fire, water or humidity.

Your gift, along with the gifts of Dr. Spears and Epsilon Epsilon alumni, will allow:

  • Capacity to host a variety of leadership programs including summer programs currently under development;
  • Housing one or more visiting chapter group visiting Lexington to incorporate the lessons of our Founders and our founding place into developmental program; and
  • Preservation of Sigma Nu’s historical records and objects that can be used to tie our history to the Sigma Nu experience of today.

Please show your own Commitment to Excellence and a facility to foster it by making your donation now.

For information on opportunities to name a room in the new facility through an appropriate gift or to discuss other forms of gifts, please contact us at foundation@sigmanu.org or 540-463-1030.
