As we approach our 25th anniversary in 2027, it’s critical to reflect on the rich history of Mu Tau while also confronting the pressing challenges we face today. Our beloved house and home at 301 East Edwards requires immediate attention to ensure its survival and sustainability for future generations of Mu Tau brothers.

Our Existential Property Crisis

Mu Tau is at a critical crossroads. The founding of our colony and fraternal home in 1999 by Justin Earley (MT8), which has served as the heart of Mu Tau, is in dire need of property ownership by us — for us. Our current landlord is interested in maintaining the relationship with us, but any unforeseen event could change our status at 301 East Edwards in a legal instant. Without immediate action, we risk losing the very foundation of our MU TAU historical, spiritual, and physical brotherhood. The urgent needs we face include:

Ensuring Property Survival and Sustainability

• Property down payment of ~$40,000 to acquire a larger loan via the MT House Corporation
• Property ownership goal of ~$400,000 to fully own 301 East Edwards via the MT House Corporation

Our Mu Tau property fundraising initiative aligns with the broader objectives of the University District, promoting a connected and engaged community while supporting Greek life at UCO. We must act within the next two years to ensure our survival in the face of neighborhood developments between UCO and the City of Edmond.
