The 2025 Atlanta Honorary Board Luncheon was held on August 19 at the Cherokee Town Club, with nearly 50 alumni in attendance. Hosted by Brother Mitchell Brannen (Georgia State), the annual gathering brings together Sigma Nu alumni from across metro Atlanta for connection and networking. This year’s keynote was delivered by Senator John F. Kennedy (Mercer), who served his chapter as Commander and now serves Georgia as the Senate President Pro Tempore. In that role, he presides over the Senate in the President’s absence and oversees the chamber’s administrative affairs. His comments on the importance of our society needing principled ethical leaders were especially relevant given Sigma Nu’s dedication to developing ethical leaders inspired by the principles of Love, Honor, and Truth. Several members of the High Council and Directors of the Sigma Nu Educational Foundation joined the luncheon. It also marked the first official event for Brother Steve Ratterman (Indiana) following his installation as Sigma Nu’s 69th Regent on July 26, 2025. From guiding the chapter through its 1990s house transition to encouraging involvement in campus life, he led by example, always present with a kind word and wise counsel. Among his many honors were Sigma Nu’s Chapter Advisor of the Year Award in 2004 and the Regent’s Medallion of Merit in 2015, which was presented by the High Council during the chapter’s 125th anniversary celebration.
