Campus Snapshot: The University of North Georgia was established in 1873, in the city of Dahlonega, Georgia. It was the first coeducational college in the state of Georgia. The Kappa Chapter was originally chartered in March of 1881 and is the home chapter of John Alexander Howard, the founding Editor of The Delta.

On May 10, 2019, the Kappa colony members were given the prestigious opportunity to reestablish that legacy on their campus. 48 men were initiated by Regent John Hearn (Georgia) at the masonic lodge with members of the Kappa Alumni Board present. Several alumni members representing the national fraternity were in attendance, including Past Regent Joe Gilman (Morehead State), Division Commander Jason Dooley (Kennesaw State), and David Mainella (Bradley). Many Kappa alumni such as Tommy Folger, Bob Stein, Bob Babich, more. The Kappa alumni gave Regent Hearn and Past Regent Gilman a tour of the campus grounds, including the Delta marker, denoting the campus as the location for the first publication of The Delta. Afterwards, a chartering banquet was hosted, where representatives of the university administration, alumni, and the new officers spoke and shared their congratulations for the
