“Kevin embodies the ideal of what it means to be a lifelong fraternity man… What began in the 1990s as a young man's promise to his brothers has evolved into a lifelong mission to uplift and strengthen every corner of the Sigma Nu experience. Since 1993, and especially with the re-founding of Theta Eta in 2006, Kevin has served in both official and unofficial capacities—pouring time, talent, and treasure into a community he helped rebuild from the ground up.” – Dr. Clint-Michael Reneau, Vice President, Northern Illinois University

Since then, he has been a near-weekly presence at the property, tackling maintenance issues, coordinating repairs, and mentoring members on how to care for the 100-year-old house. From bats in the attic and clogged showers to water main repairs and years of deferred maintenance, Paul has been on the front lines, managing contractors, meeting inspectors, and guiding collegiate brothers. He also spearheaded a $6 million renovation and repair campaign, ensuring the chapter’s long-term stability.

In 2021, Paul joined the Alumni Advisory Board, later becoming Chapter Advisor and Board Chairman in 2025. Division Commander of the Year

John P. Kotwicki (Case Western Reserve)

He most recently served as Chairman of the Elections Committee during the 71st Grand Chapter.

“John’s willingness to invest fully in the development of collegiate and alumnus brothers across his Division is commendable. He understands the needs and context of each collegiate chapter and volunteer group, allowing him to step in as the first line of support and assistance no matter the issue. Just this year he demonstrated that willingness and ability to assist through in-person and virtual means to chapters in need throughout the Division. That he accomplishes this so seamlessly without being an alumnus to any of these chapters is remarkable.” – Scott A. Smith (Central Arkansas), Director of Leadership Development, Sigma Nu Fraternity, Inc.

This award honors an alumnus whose exemplary leadership, involvement, and personal dedication have made a significant impact on the General Fraternity. Through his active participation and outstanding achievements, he serves as a model of excellence and a testament to the enduring principles of Sigma Nu.

Mark M. Mustoe (Kansas)

Mark Mustoe has devoted several years of exceptional leadership and service to Nu Chapter’s House Corporation at the University of Kansas. Joining the board in 2020 and becoming President in 2022, one of his first priorities was re-envisioning the House Director role, strengthening collaboration with the board and improving their ability to manage and maintain the historic Stubb’s Mansion.

With a strong focus on Nu Chapter’s future, Mark is leading a $4 million capital campaign to renovate and enhance the chapter house. Beyond his House Corporation leadership, he is deeply engaged with both collegiate and alumni members. In 2023, he helped launch the inaugural Commander’s Dinner, drawing more than 20 alumni and former chapter Commanders, and this year he organized the chapter’s first group pilgrimage to Sigma Nu Headquarters in Lexington, Va.

Mark’s dedicated service has coincided with an era of excellence for Nu Chapter, including six consecutive Rock Chapter recognitions, marking it as one of the top Sigma Nu chapters in the country.

“Mark has done an outstanding job of reaching out and engaging on an ongoing basis all stakeholders in Nu Chapter…He is truly outstanding in including others. So, while he is improving things across the board, he is also engaging others to ensure the improvements are sustainable over a long period of time. Through this process, Mark is ensuring the foundation he is setting will result in ongoing excellence, even after that sad day comes when he steps aside.” – Rodney Beller, Nu (Kansas) House Corporation Board Member
