2017 College of Chapters - Day One

Experience the 2017 College of Chapters through our daily photo recap.

Over 240 attendees descend upon the Hotel Roanoke for the Legion of Honor's premier leadership experience.

Despite weather disruptions across the Eastern seaboard, collegians begin to arrive at registration where they receieve all the materials they'll need for the following three days.

The convention floor takes shape in preparation of hosting the three keynote speakers for College of Chapters.

Over the course of three days Commanders from across the country will develop a vision, strategy, and goals for their chapter.

Clayton Simundson (Washington State), Clyde Yelverton (Alabama), Zachary Pruitt (Appalachian State), J.R. Markos (Mississippi), and Samuel Gay (Kansas) prepare to deliver The Ritual during the opening session.

Vice Regent Maury Gaston (Auburn) opens the first general session with the invocation.

Regent Lee Perrett (Auburn) delivers his opening remarks and his charge to Commanders at the first general session.

Hall of Fame inductee and Past Regent Charlie Eitel (Oklahoma State) is the first keynote speaker and shares some of the lessons on vision, values, and ethical leadership he's learned through his years of business success.

Sigma Nu Educational Foundation (SNEF) Chairman Al Wurster (Purdue) presents the four Collegiate Grand Councilmen and two SNEF collegiate board members with jeweled badges in recognition of their service to the Legion of Honor.

Attendees are split into 14 Chapter Groups, named after Hall of Honor inductees and facilitated by a pair of faculty, where they have the opportunity to network and provide feedback to each other.

The six Core Sessions focus on the primary aspects of being an effective Commander, ranging from how to create a vision for their chapter to understanding Sigma Nu's policies.
