Campus Snapshot: The beautiful Huntingdon College campus is located in historic Montgomery, Alabama. Although the small campus is in the midst of a large historic city, it has been displayed globally when it was featured in the film Big Fish. Huntingdon, founded in 1854, is a coeducational private liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Although Huntingdon has nearly 1000 students, they have an aggressive Greek community of approximately 20% of the campus.
Chapter Profile: The Nu Beta chapter number 278 is the newest chartered chapter in the Legion of Honor. Since its inception, the colony consistently had the highest GPA, manpower above the campus average, won countless intramural championships, and donated the most community service. The new chapter has created a great fraternity culture based around the values and ideals of Sigma Nu.
On April 10, 2010, after 2 years of hard work the Nu Beta chapter was chartered, initiating 31 knights as founding fathers. The chartering was a very successful event with nearly 150 people in attendance, including Regent Joe Gilman.
The Nu Beta Chapter would like to recognize Craig Garner, Coordinator of Greek Life, and Dr. Frank Parsons, Vice President for Student Life & Dean of Students, and Dr. Frank Buckner, Chapman Benson Professor of Christian Faith and Philosophy and Faculty Advisor. They would also like to give a very special thanks to their Alumni Advisory Board, parents, Division Commander Austin Landry, Brother Maury Gaston, Sigma Nu staff, Regent Joe Gilman and the High Council for helping to make the Nu Beta chartering successful.
