Location: Virginia Wesleyan College – Virginia Beach, VA

Re-Chartering Date: December 12, 2009

Campus Snapshot: The 300 acre Virginia Wesleyan College campus sits on the border of Norfolk and Virginia Beach, Virginia. Though the campus is in the middle of a busy metropolitan area, it is only 20 minutes from the beach. VWC, a liberal arts college, boasts a tight-knit community with a student body of approximately 1,400 students.
Chapter Profile: The chapter was first chartered in 1974. In 2001, the chapter was closed due to a number of reasons. Now, eight years later, the Iota Beta Chapter is the strongest it's ever been. With the highest GPA, most manpower, numerous leaders on campus, including the President of IFC for two consecutive years, the Chapter has laid the groundwork for long term success.
On December 12, 2009, after 2 years of hard work, the Iota Beta Chapter was rechartered, initiating 16 knights, with another 9 candidates awaiting initiation in early spring.
The Iota Beta Chapter would like to recognize Jenn Mitchell, Student Activities & Greek Life Coordinator, and Kristen Whalen, Associate Dean of Students and Director of Student Activities, Greek Life and Commuter Services at VWC for their endless support and encouragement. They would also like to give a special thanks to their alumni, parents, countless other VWC faculty and staff, the Eta Chi Chapter at Old Dominion University, Sigma Nu staff and High Council for all helping to make the Iota Beta rechartering possible.
