Sigma Nu Hires New Consultants

With the New Year now underway, the General Fraternity is also pleased to announce both the addition of another Leadership Consultant and the future transition of an existing Consultant as we continue to strengthen the services and resources offered to all our constituents. J. Frederick Dobry (Indiana State) was hired as a Leadership Consultant for the Northwest region and Andrew Meeks (Kent State) will transition into Expansion and Recruitment, effective March 2008.

Dobry Hired as a Leadership Consultant - Northwest Region

Fred Dobry graduated from Indiana State University in December 2007, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a minor in Management of Information Systems. While at Indiana State, Fred served as President, Treasurer and Vice-President of Community Service for ISU's Interfraternity Council. As a member of the Iota Psi Chapter, he served as Commander, Lt. Commander, LEAD Chairman, Alumni Relations Chairman and Philanthropy Chairman. During the summer of 2006, Fred worked for Sigma Nu Headquarters as a General Intern. Additionally, he enjoyed the distinct honor of serving as a Collegiate Grand Councilman on the Fraternity's High Council for the 2006-2007 academic year. In addition to attending Sigma Nu's 61st and 62nd Grand Chapters and both the 2005 and 2007 College of Chapters, Fred was also a participant in the North-American Interfraternity Conference's Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute during the summer of 2004. He is a passionate fan of the Chicago Cubs and enjoys listening to Dave Matthews Band. When not watching the Cubs or listening to Dave, he enjoys playing sports and hanging out with his friends, family and his new fiancÚ.

Andrew Meeks

Meeks to Transition into Expansion and Recruitment - March 2008

Andrew Meeks is a graduate of Kent State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising with a minor in Marketing. He has been serving as a Leadership Consultant since January 2007, and will continue those duties with select chapters until he transitions into the position of Expansion and Recruitment Consultant in March 2008.

During his undergraduate years with the Zeta Gamma Chapter, Andrew served as a multiple term Commander, Lt. Commander and Marshal. He was also heavily involved in activities outside of Sigma Nu, serving as the Research and Development Senator on the Undergraduate Student Senate, teaching freshman orientation, being involved with the Judicial Advocates program and serving on a multitude of other committees and boards, including the Public Safety Advisory Council and the Space Planning Committee. He studied Shodokan karate and is a black belt. In 2005 and 2006, Andrew received the Kent State Excellence in Leadership Award.

Born and raised in North Canton, Ohio, Andrew has been involved with sports from the time he could pick up a ball. He is a diehard Michigan Wolverines and Cleveland sports fan, even though he knows it almost always involves getting his heart broken. His career goals include going back to school for his MBA and working in corporate advertising for a Fortune 500 company such as Nike or Coca-Cola.

Andrew will continue consulting with the following chapters before becoming Project Manager for the UC Davis recolonization in March 2008:
