Sigma Nu Institute

The 2024 Sigma Nu Institute was held virtually with two session options offered in January to accommodate time zones and participant availability. Officers were invited to attend the program that best fit their schedule, irrespective of other attendees from their chapter.

The Sigma Nu Institute is designed to assist with the officer transition process and learning curve that accompanies taking on new positions of chapter leadership. Both newly elected and mid-term officers will benefit from the program through increased exposure to, and education on, the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully and effectively meet their officer expectations.

The 2024 program offered expanded tracks to new officer roles and complemented the College of Chapters program experienced by Commanders and focused on the following officers:

  • Treasurers
  • Marshals
  • LEAD Chairmen
  • Recruitment Chairmen
  • Chaplains (Brotherhood Chairmen)
  • Community Service and Philanthropy Chairmen
  • Alumni Relations Chairmen
  • Scholarship Chairmen
  • Risk Reduction & Social Chairmen

All Chapters and colonies were expected to have multiple officers attend a program of their choice. Chapter participation in the Institute program by multiple officers is an Acceptable criterion in the Brother Development section of the Pursuit of Excellence Program.

Alumni and Other Volunteers

An Alumni Institute was held on Wednesday, January 17th for Chapter Advisors, Alumni Advisory Board members, and Division Commanders. Fraternity volunteers were also invited to participate in the collegiate Institute program alongside the student and officer position they advise.
