In Memory of Brother Philip Erdoes
Sadly, beloved Brother Philip Erdoes (EE 1540, OSU ’85) passed suddenly from this life on January 7, 2026, likely from a severe respiratory infection. The funeral mass/ memorial service for Philip is being held at St Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City on Friday, January 16 at 1 pm.
After a brief legal career in Houston, Philip attended Harvard for his MBA where he met his wife, Mary Calahan Erdoes. He had a broad business career venturing in tech, manufacturing, design, media, analytics, logistics, and film production. He led many entities in these areas and served on the board of directors of numerous companies and the Dean's Advisory Board for Harvard Business School. He and Mary were very active philanthropists in the NYC area. He and brother Peter established an ongoing scholarship fund for OSU-OKC for struggling students.
Philip was a leader in so many ways, but was always willing to listen, tell a joke, or toss out new ideas. He was outgoing, fun, loyal, generous with his time, and a true brother and friend to all he came in contact with. Philip will be greatly missed!
If you wish to honor Philip’s legacy, please consider making a donation to the OSU Sigma Nu House Fund.
