Lexington, Va. – Sigma Nu Fraternity is aware of the decision made by Cornell University to suspend recognition of the Gamma Theta Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity.

The Fraternity is completing its investigation and review process regarding activities of the Gamma Theta Chapter. That process will include consideration of the University’s suspension decision. Upon completion of that investigation, the Fraternity will take whatever action is determined to be appropriate. Sigma Nu Fraternity prohibits and condemns hazing in any form and was founded in direct opposition to hazing.

Headquartered in Lexington, Va., Sigma Nu Fraternity was founded in 1869 at Virginia Military Institute.
