Sigma Nu is proud to offer MentalHealthEdu, an online program targeting our staff and volunteers. MentalHealthEdu provides the tools and information needed to feel confident in reaching out to distressed students and directing them to the appropriate resources in their local campus community.

MentalHealthEdu is designed to:

  • Reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues.
  • Support student retention.
  • Promote early intervention.
  • Supplement and create visibility for campus mental health services.

MentalHealthEdu participants can expect to:

  • Learn to interpret the signs of distress commonly exhibited by students.
  • Be provided with specific suggestions for reaching out to students.
  • Be presented with realistic exercises that allow participants to evaluate the impact of taking (or not taking) certain steps.
  • Learn the frequent causes of student distress.
  • Realize the impact of mental health issues on students and the campus community.

Alumni and volunteers are encouraged to review the course by following these instructions:

  1. Go to: http://www.mentalhealthedu.com
  2. Under "New User", enter the login ID that was provided in the letter to volunteers. *Note: If you did not receive the volunteer letter, or would like to request a new login ID, please e-mail us at headquarters@sigmanu.org indicating such and include your current role with the Fraternity.
  3. Click "Submit" and follow the on-screen prompts.
  4. When you return, log in as a Returning User and enter the same e-mail address and password you created when you first logged into the course.
