Helping Hand Initiative - Founders' Month of Service

At the 63rd Grand Chapter, a resolution was passed to create the Founders' Month-of-Service. This resolution expanded the previously used Founders' Week-of-Service in an attempt to increase opportunities for chapters to participate in the Helping Hand Initiative.

The primary objective of the Founders' Month-of-Service is to serve as a time of year when all Sigma Nu members are called upon to employ their services, talents and time to the benefit of charitable organizations in their local communities.

The month of April will be designated as the Founders' Month-of-Service. For Sigma Nu chapters wishing to take part in the Helping Hand Initiative, the Founders' Month-of-Service offers multiple avenues of participation. First, any chapter conducting community service or hosting a philanthropic event, benefiting ANY charitable organization (local, state, national or global), during the month of April will qualify as a Helping Hand participant by reporting its efforts and/or events online. The chapter should inform Sigma Nu Headquarters about the event prior to its taking place by making a commitment to participation in the Helping Hand Initiative with our Commitment Form.

Second, a chapter participating with any of the three Helping Hand Partners during the Founders' Month-of-Service will be considered as a participant in the Helping Hand Initiative by reporting its efforts and/or events online.
