THE PROGRAM

Sigma Nu's 64th Grand Chapter will officially begin on Saturday, July 3 with on-site registration at the Sheraton Boston Hotel.

Grand Chapter events will include the opening ceremony, legislative sessions, a live auction, a tour of Fenway Park, educational workshops, presentation of Fraternity awards and a gala banquet. We will also take time to celebrate Independence Day in one of the most important cities in the history of the United States. Please see the schedule of events below. REGISTRATION DEADLINE

Online registration is required and can be accessed here. All registrations are due no later than April 30, 2010.

NOTE:Registrations received after April 30, 2010, will be assessed a $50.00 late registration fee, per person. Any collegiate registration that occurs after April 30, 2010 will also result in forfeiture of the lodging reservation for the applicable collegiate chapter (see below for more information). If you are unable to register online, please contact our office for additional support.

The Grand Chapter registration fee covers meeting materials, fees and applicable meals only. Individual attendees are responsible for all other expenses, including travel, meals, and lodging.


COLLEGIATE REGISTRATION

Each collegiate chapter has previously been billed a non-refundable "Conclave Fee" which makes them eligible to register two voting delegates for the 64th Grand Chapter. This fee covers meeting materials, costs, applicable meals and one hotel room for four nights of lodging (Saturday, July 3 through Tuesday, July 6).

Collegiate members in addition to the two voting delegates from a specific chapter may register to attend Grand Chapter for a fee of US $275.00. This discounted fee is only available for such collegiate members. The fee covers meeting materials, costs and applicable meals; it does NOT INCLUDE LODGING.

Up to a maximum of four collegiate members from the same collegiate chapter may stay in the one hotel room provided to that specific collegiate chapter as part of the "Conclave Fee" (see above).

NOTE: FAILURE TO REGISTER VOTING DELEGATES BY APRIL 30, 2010 WILL RESULT IN FORFEITURE OF THE LODGING RESERVATION FOR THE APPLICABLE COLLEGIATE CHAPTER.

NOTE: INDIVIDUAL ATTENDEES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN EXPENSES, INCLUDING TRAVEL, EXCEPT AS NOTED OTHERWISE.


ALUMNI REGISTRATION

There are a number of registration packages available for our alumni members and their guests. Alumni registrants may choose from the options below:

Weekend Alumni registration (Saturday – Sunday) is US $150.00. This package includes admission to the Sold!... for Sigma Nu Silent & Live Auction on Saturday night, attendance at Opening Ceremonies and Maddox Honor Lecture, a meal ticket (1) to the Honors Luncheon, admission to Business Sessions on Sunday and all other Grand Chapter materials.

Full Alumni registration (Saturday – Wednesday) is US $295.00. In addition to everything offered in the Weekend Alumni package, this includes all other Grand Chapter-related business and educational sessions, participation in Monday's brotherhood event and an individual meal ticket (1) for the luncheon on Monday and Grand Chapter Banquet and Awards Ceremony on Tuesday night.

Sold!...for Sigma Nu ONLY (Saturday Night). Single ticket registration for the silent and live auction to benefit the Sigma Nu Educational Foundation is available for US $50.00 per person.

Honors Luncheon ONLY (Sunday). Single ticket registration for Sunday's honors and awards luncheon is available for US $40.00 per person.

Grand Chapter Luncheon ONLY (Monday). Single ticket registration for Monday's on-site luncheon is available for US $40.00 per person.

Fenway Tour ONLY (Monday evening). Single ticket registration for the brotherhood event at Fenway park is US $10.00 per person.

Grand Chapter Banquet and Awards Ceremony ONLY (Tuesday Night). Single ticket registration for the Grand Chapter Banquet and Awards ceremony is available for US $75.00 per person.

Spouse/Guest Meal and Event Tickets. Single ticket registration for each of the Grand Chapter meal functions, as well as Sold!... for Sigma Nu can be purchased at the following rates:

  • Sold!... for Sigma Nu: US $50.00 each
  • Honors Luncheon (Sunday): US $40.00 each
  • Monday Luncheon: US $40.00 each
  • Fenway Tour: US $10.00 each
  • Grand Chapter Banquet and Awards Ceremony: US $75.00 each


DELEGATE
CHANGES

While not encouraged, should your chapter's delegates change for any reason after registering for Grand Chapter, please immediately notify our office in writing to ensure our records remain accurate. For the fastest processing, please have the replacement delegates register online and then submit notification of the change electronically to gc.info@sigmanu.org. You will receive a confirmation reply once the change is processed.


CANCELLATIONS

As previously mentioned, the "Conclave Fee" assessed to collegiate chapters is non-refundable. However, additional collegiate and alumni registrations may be cancelled with full or partial refund according to the following schedule:

Cancellation BY May 1, 2010: Full refund issued
Cancellation AFTER May 1, 2010: Refund issued, less $50.00 administrative fee
Cancellation AFTER June 1, 2010: Refund issued, less $100.00 administrative fee

Failure to attend WITHOUT Cancellation: No refund issued

All cancellations must be received in writing and can be submitted electronically to gc.info@sigmanu.org . You will receive a confirmation reply once processed.


ACCOMMODATIONS

Most 64th Grand Chapter events will be held at the Sheraton Boston Hotel on 39 Dalton Street, Boston, Massachusetts, which provides spectacular accommodations and is ideally situated in the heart of one of America's most historic cities.

For purposes of the 64th Grand Chapter this means that collegiate voting delegates and up to 2 additional delegates per chapter (for a total of no more than 4) will have their lodging fees covered for the evenings of Saturday, July 3 through Tuesday, July 6, 2009.


TRAVEL

All delegates should plan to arrive at the hotel no later than 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 3rd to allow time to check-in and complete on-site Grand Chapter registration. Grand Chapter registration will open Saturday morning and hotel check-in will begin at 3:00 PM. Please plan your travel to allow plenty of time.

Those who will be driving should plan to arrive in Boston no later than 4:00 PM. Those who will be flying should make arrangements to fly into Boston Logan International Airport [Airport Code: BOS] and should plan to land in Boston no later than 3:00 PM.

Those who will be driving to Grand Chapter will receive more detailed directions and parking instructions in June 2010.


REIMBURSEMENT

Each collegiate chapter attending the 64th Grand Chapter will receive a travel reimbursement in the amount of $.15/mile, credited to their chapter's account with the General Fraternity. Reimbursement checks WILL NOT be issued.


LEGISLATION

Grand Chapter legislative proposals should be received at the Sigma Nu Fraternity Headquarters, in writing and in proper form, no later than May 15, 2010, to allow for advance review by the Jurisprudence Committee.

Chapters should expect to receive a mailing which includes the proper form and instructions for the submission of such proposals. That form and instructions are also available here. Any questions regarding the Grand Chapter legislative process should be directed to Brad Beacham, Executive Director, at Sigma Nu Fraternity Headquarters.


NOMINATIONS

All nominations for the elected positions of the High Council (to be elected during the 64th Grand Chapter in Boston, MA) should be received in writing at the Sigma Nu Fraternity Headquarters no later than May 15, 2010. They should be mailed to:

Nominations should include the name and chapter designation of the nominee, a current resume and the position for which the individual is being nominated (i.e. Regent-Elect, Grand Treasurer or Vice-Regent). Any questions regarding the Grand Chapter nominating process should be directed to Brad Beacham, Executive Director, at Sigma Nu Fraternity Headquarters.
