Sigma Nu’s 67th Grand Chapter will officially begin on Wednesday, June 29th, at the Manchester Grand Hyatt, with activities taking place through the closing banquet on the evening of Saturday, July 2nd.

Grand Chapter events will include the opening ceremony, business sessions, the Maddox Honor Lecture, an Honor luncheon, a live and silent auction, a brotherhood event on the USS Midway, educational workshops, presentation of Fraternity awards, and a gala banquet.

Registration Deadline

Online registration is required for all attendees and can be accessed here. All registrations are due no later than May 13, 2016.

NOTE: Registrations received after May 13 will be assessed a $75.00 late registration fee, per person. Any collegiate representative registration that occurs after May 13 will also result in forfeiture of the lodging reservation for the applicable collegiate chapter (see below for more information). If you are unable to register online, please contact our office for additional support.

The Grand Chapter registration fee covers only the items noted below. Individual attendees are responsible for all other expenses, which may include travel, meals, and lodging.

Collegiate Registration

Each collegiate chapter has previously been billed a non-refundable Conclave Fee which allows for the registration of two voting representatives for the 67th Grand Chapter. This fee covers meeting materials, Grand Chapter costs, applicable meals, and one hotel room for four nights of lodging – Wednesday, July 29 through Saturday, July 2.

Collegiate members wishing to attend Grand Chapter in addition to the two voting representatives of their chapter may register to attend the 67th Grand Chapter for a fee of $275.00. This discounted fee is only available for such collegiate members. The fee covers meeting materials, costs, and applicable meals; it does NOT INCLUDE LODGING OR TRAVEL EXPENSES.

Up to a maximum of four collegiate members from the same collegiate chapter may stay in the hotel room provided for that specific collegiate chapter as part of the Conclave Fee (see above).



Alumni Registration

There are a number of registration packages available for our alumni members and their guests. Alumni registrants may choose from the options below:

Weekend Alumni registration (Friday – Sunday, 7/1-3) is $280.00. This package includes a meal ticket (1) to the Honor luncheon on Friday afternoon, admission to the Sold!...for Sigma Nu auction on Friday night, a meal ticket (1) to the Grand Chapter Awards Banquet, and admission to Business Sessions on Friday and Saturday.

Full Alumni registration (Wednesday – Sunday, 6/29-7/3) is $355.00. In addition to everything offered in the Weekend Alumni package, this includes all other Grand Chapter business and educational sessions, admission to Wednesday’s Opening Ceremony, and Thursday evening’s brotherhood event and dinner on the flight deck of the USS Midway.

USS Midway Tour and Dinner ONLY (Thursday night, 6/30). Single ticket registration for full admission to the USS Midway tour and dinner on the flight deck. Ticket is valid for this exclusive after-hours tour and Sigma Nu brotherhood event & dinner on Thursday, June 30, 2016, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Single ticket registration for the USS Midway Tour and Dinner is $65.00.

Sold!...For Sigma Nu ONLY (Friday Night, 7/1). Single ticket registration for the silent and live auction to benefit the Sigma Nu Educational Foundation is available for $85.00 per person. Advance ticket purchases are recommended.

Grand Chapter Awards Banquet Only (Saturday Night, 7/2). Single ticket registration for the banquet is available for $114.00.


Spouses and guests are welcome at most events of the 67th Grand Chapter. Spouses and guests must be registered accordingly.

Spouse/Guest Meal and Event Tickets

Single ticket registration for each of the Grand Chapter meal functions, as well as Sold!..for Sigma Nu can be purchased at the following rates:

USS Midway Tour and Dinner (Thursday, 6/30): $65.00 each

Sold!... for Sigma Nu (Friday, 7/1): $85.00 each

Grand Chapter Awards Banquet (Saturday, 7/2): $114.00 each

Guest Complete Meal Ticket Package: $300.00 each (Includes: Sold!...For Sigma Nu, Honor Luncheon, USS Midway Tour and Dinner, and the Grand Chapter Awards Banquet.) **This package is only available as an add-on to either the weekend or full alumni registration package and is only valid for non-initiates.**

Guests under the age of 18 may attend meal functions free of charge but must be registered in advance.

Representative Changes

While not encouraged, if a collegiate chapter’s representatives change for any reason after registering for Grand Chapter, please immediately notify our office in writing to ensure our records remain accurate. For the fastest processing: 1) have the replacement representative register online and then, 2) submit notification of the change electronically to gc.info@sigmanu.org. A confirmation reply will be sent once the change is processed.


The Conclave Fee billed to collegiate chapters is non-refundable; however, additional collegiate and alumni/guest/spouse registrations may be cancelled with full or partial refund according to the following schedule:

Cancellation BEFORE May 20: Full refund issued

Cancellation AFTER May 20: Refund issued, less $50.00 administrative fee

Cancellation AFTER June 10: Refund issued, less $100.00 administrative fee

Failure to attend WITHOUT cancellation: No refund issued.

All cancellations must be received in writing and should be submitted electronically to gc.info@sigmanu.org. A confirmation reply will be sent once the cancellation is processed.


Most 67th Grand Chapter events will be held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt at 1 Market Place, San Diego, Calif., which provides spectacular accommodations and is conveniently located near the San Diego trolley system. This urban retreat in the heat of San Diego features an array of premium amenities including a bayside pool, rooftop tennis, basketball and volleyball courts, a full-service serenity spa, and a variety of restaurants and lounges on-site.

Per resolution of the 63rd Grand Chapter, the cost of lodging for one room per collegiate chapter has been incorporated into the Conclave Fee paid by collegiate chapters.

For purposes of the 67th Grand Chapter this means that collegiate voting representatives and up to 2 additional attendees per chapter (for a total of no more than 4) may have their lodging expense covered for the evenings of Wednesday, June 29, through Saturday, July 2, 2016.

Collegiate lodging assignments will be made by the General Fraternity and chapter representatives will be roomed together whenever possible.

All guests who reserve rooms within the Sigma Nu group block, and who receive our reduced group rate, must be registered to attend Grand Chapter.


All Grand Chapter representatives should plan to arrive at the hotel no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29th to allow time to check-in and complete on-site Grand Chapter registration. Grand Chapter registration will open Wednesday afternoon and hotel check-in will begin at 4:00 p.m. The Grand Hyatt Hotel will attempt to accommodate as many early arrivals as possible. Representatives are asked to plan their travel to allow plenty of time to pick up their Grand Chapter materials and get settled before the Opening Ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m.

Those who will be driving should plan to arrive in San Diego no later than 4:00 p.m.

The Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel is located at 1 Market Place, San Diego, Calif., 92101. Parking is available on-site at the rate of $47.00/day (valet) and $32.00/day (self), tax excluded.

The Manchester Grand Hyatt also offers hourly rates for local residents at $7/hour (self) and $10/hour (valet).

Those who will be flying should make arrangements to fly into San Diego International Airport [Airport Code: SAN] and should plan to land in San Diego no later than 3:30 p.m.

Transportation to the Manchester Grand Hyatt is a relatively easy process. ALL transportation from the airport to the hotel will be at the individual’s expense:

Taxi Service to the Manchester Grand Hyatt is available on-demand and a one-way fare from SAN will cost approximately $15.00 + gratuity.

Each collegiate chapter attending the 67th Grand Chapter will receive a travel reimbursement in the amount of $.15/mile ONE WAY, credited to their chapter account with the General Fraternity. Reimbursement checks will not be issued.  


Grand Chapter legislative proposals should be received at the Sigma Nu Fraternity Headquarters office, in writing and in proper form, no later than May 4 to allow for advance review by the Jurisprudence Committee.

Chapters should expect to receive a mailing which includes the proper form and instructions for the submission of such proposals. That form and instructions are also available here. Any questions regarding the Grand Chapter legislative process should be directed to Brad Beacham at (540) 463-1869.


All nominations for elected High Council positions should be received in writing at the Sigma Nu Fraternity Headquarters offices no later than May 4. Any questions regarding the Grand Chapter nominating process should be directed to Brad Beacham at (540) 463-1869.

All Grand Chapter participants must be properly attired to attend Grand Chapter business sessions, events, and meal functions. Proper attire consists of dress pants (khakis or slacks), a collared shirt and closed-toe shoes. Shorts, t-shirts, hats, caps, sandals, and flip-flops, may not be worn to business sessions or meal functions. Any participant not honoring the dress code may be asked to leave the function and/or be referred to the Appeals and Grievances Committee for further response.

Attire for the Grand Chapter Awards Banquet is coat and tie or suit and tie. Please plan accordingly.


All official meal functions and Grand Chapter activities will require a nametag for entry. Dinner will be provided on Thursday, June 30th and Saturday, July 2nd. Lunch will be provided on Friday, July 1st. These meals will be available to paid registrants (with nametags) only. All other meals will be on your own and at your own expense.

Please inquire at Grand Chapter registration if you anticipate bringing an unregistered guest to any of the meal functions and/or special events. Details on how to purchase additional guest meals will be provided.

Late On-Site Registration

Late on-site registration (packet pickup) will be available from 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, prior to Business Session II.
