Commitment to a Safe Fraternity Experience

While many aspects of campus life are different from this academic term, one thing remains unchanged – the Fraternity’s commitment to creating a safe fraternity experience. Benjamin Franklin once said, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Consider the preventive measures your chapter should implement to ensure a successful year.

Below are some practical steps to get started:

  • Familiarize yourself with the COVID-19 related policies and expectations of the host institution, local municipality, and state. As always, chapters and members should be aware of and observe such rules, policies, and regulations.
  • Consult the library of COVID-19 and Pursuit of Excellence resources available on the Fraternity’s resource pages to help identify and implement necessary and helpful adjustments.
  • Personal health and safety concerns should always take precedence over chapter event or meeting participation requirements. When possible, provide both an in-person and virtual attendance option. Above all, be flexible and compassionate.
  • Model the Way – be aware of and observe your college or university’s protocols and other applicable health and safety rules, policies, and regulations. Set the example of ethical leadership.

As you know, Sigma Nu members are leaders on campuses throughout the United States. Responding to and modeling responsible conduct to reduce the transmission of COVID-19 is yet another opportunity for you to lead the way, with Love, Honor, and Truth

If you should need any support in this regard, please do not hesitate to contact your chapter’s Leadership Consultant. Our entire staff team is ready to help!
