Sigma Nu’s Annual Officer Transition Program

The Sigma Nu Institute is Sigma Nu’s annual officer transition program, designed to prepare newly elected chapter officers with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to lead effectively from day one. Through officer-specific training, participants gain practical guidance, best practices, and a deeper understanding of their responsibilities, helping ensure a successful transition and a stronger chapter. Mid-term officers are also encouraged to participate to reinforce their leadership skills and continue their development.

The 2026 Experience

The 2026 Sigma Nu Institute was held virtually on January 24, followed by a limited number of regional in-person sessions on January 31 and February 7. The program featured specialized educational tracks for 12 chapter leadership positions, complementing the leadership training Commanders receive at College of Chapters.

2026 Officer Tracks

  • Lieutenant Commanders
  • Treasurers
  • Marshals
  • LEAD Chairmen
  • Recruitment Chairmen
  • Chaplains & Brotherhood Chairmen
  • Community Service & Philanthropy Chairmen
  • Alumni Relations Chairmen
  • Scholarship Chairmen
  • Risk Reduction & Social Chairmen
  • Recorders (or the officer responsible for chapter communications and social media)

All chapters were expected to have multiple officers participate in a program of their choice. Participation by multiple officers satisfies an Acceptable criterion in the Brother Development section of the Pursuit of Excellence Program.

Alumni & Volunteer Programming

An Alumni Institute was also held for Chapter Advisors, Alumni Advisory Board members, and Division Commanders. Alumni volunteers were encouraged to participate alongside the collegiate officers they advise, fostering stronger collaboration and more effective chapter support.
