1. Acceptance of These Terms
By accessing www.sigmanu.org, the Sigma Nu Portal, or any related service (collectively, the “Services”), you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
References to “Sigma Nu,” “we,” “our,” or “us” mean Sigma Nu Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Nu Educational Foundation, Inc., Fifth Point Properties, LLC, and affiliated entities.
2. Description of Services
Sigma Nu provides access to a range of resources through this website and the Sigma Nu Portal, including LEAD Program materials, officer manuals and guides, chapter management tools, event and candidate registration, payment and donation processing, and the Membership Directory.
We may add, change, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.
3. Sigma Nu Portal Accounts
Access to member-only Services requires a Sigma Nu Portal account.
Registration. To create an account you must provide current, complete, and accurate information and verify your eligibility as a member, candidate, volunteer, or other authorized user.
Credentials and security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify Sigma Nu immediately at headquarters@www.sigmanu.org if you become aware of unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.
No sharing of accounts. You may not use another person’s account, allow another person to use your account, or transfer your account to anyone else.
Liability. Sigma Nu is not liable for any loss you incur as a result of someone else using your credentials, whether or not you were aware of it. You may be liable for losses incurred by Sigma Nu or a third party as a result of someone else using your credentials.
Suspension and termination. We may suspend or terminate access to any account that we reasonably believe has been used in violation of these Terms.
4. Personal, Affiliated Organization, and Non-Commercial Use
Except as expressly permitted below, no part of the Services may be copied, imitated, reproduced, distributed, republished, downloaded, displayed, posted, or transmitted in any form or by any means — electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording, or otherwise — without the permission of Sigma Nu or the applicable copyright owner.
Permission is granted to display, copy, distribute, and download materials from this website for personal use or for the use of an Affiliated Organization (chapters, alumni chapters, clubs, associations, and housing entities), for non-commercial purposes only, provided that you do not modify the materials and that you retain all copyright and other proprietary notices.
5. Documents Available on This Website
Permission to use Documents (such as LEAD manuals and officer manuals and guides) is granted provided that:
- all copyright notices are retained on all copies;
- use is informational and non-commercial, for personal or Affiliated Organization use only, and the Documents are not copied or posted to any network computer or broadcast in any media; and
- no modifications are made to any Document.
Use for any other purpose is prohibited by law and may result in civil and criminal penalties.
6. Membership Directory
The Membership Directory is available only to authenticated Sigma Nu Portal users and contains member contact information, including addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.
Directory information may be used for personal and Affiliated Organization purposes only. It may not be used for any commercial activity, and it may not be copied, exported in bulk, posted, or broadcast in any media.
Use of Directory information inconsistent with these Terms will result in termination of access to the Directory and other Services, and may result in civil and criminal penalties.
7. Site Layout, Images, and Trademarks
Elements of this website — including site layout, images, logos, graphics, badges, insignia, and certain words and phrases — are protected by copyright, trademark, service mark, and other intellectual property rights. Except as stated below, these elements may not be copied, imitated, reproduced, distributed, republished, downloaded, displayed, posted, or transmitted in whole or in part without the express permission of Sigma Nu.
Certain images, logos, and graphics identified as available for official use may be used by Affiliated Organizations for official Sigma Nu activities on a non-commercial basis. All other uses must be approved in advance by Sigma Nu. See the Brand Resources page for details.
8. No Unlawful or Prohibited Use
As a condition of your use of the Services, you agree that you will not:
- use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in any way prohibited by these Terms or the Privacy Policy;
- mirror any material from this website on another server;
- use the Services in a manner that could damage, overburden, or impair any Sigma Nu server or connected network;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to any Sigma Nu server, account, restricted portion of the site, or connected system or network, whether by hacking, credential mining, or any other means;
- use any automated means — including scraping, crawling, or bulk export tools — to obtain data from the Services;
- obtain or attempt to obtain materials or information not intentionally made available through the Services; or
- upload or transmit any virus, malware, or other harmful code.
9. Content You Submit
If you submit content to the Services — including news submissions, forms, survey responses, photographs, or Directory information — you represent that you have the right to do so, and you grant Sigma Nu a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display that content in connection with Fraternity operations and publications, including The Delta.
You are solely responsible for the content you submit. We may remove any submission at our discretion.
10. Text Messaging
Where you have opted in, Sigma Nu may send you text messages. Text messaging is governed by our SMS Terms of Use, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
In summary: message and data rates may apply; message frequency varies; reply HELP for help and STOP to cancel; carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of membership or of any purchase.
11. Links to Third-Party Sites and Services
This website contains links to sites and services that Sigma Nu does not control. We are not responsible for the content of any linked site, any link contained within a linked site, or any changes or updates to those sites. Links are provided for your convenience and, unless expressly stated, do not imply endorsement. These Terms apply only to this website and the Sigma Nu Portal.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
