Congratulations to Brother Scott Beardsley, an alumnus of Sigma Nu’s Zeta Eta Chapter at Tufts University, on his appointment as President of the University of Virginia. Beardsley assumed the role in January 2026 after a distinguished tenure as dean of UVA’s Darden School of Business, where he elevated the school to historic academic success, fundraising milestones, and top national rankings. He is the university’s 10th president.

In the August episode of The Gavel Podcast, the Fraternity interviewed Brother Walt Sokoll, an alumnus of our Zeta Eta Chapter at Tufts University. Brother Sokoll is a Principal with Deloitte in their Human Capital Practice and was recently appointed to the board of directors for City Year in Philadelphia. City Year is a nonprofit that partners with public schools to provide full-time, trained AmeriCorps members who support student success. During the conversation, Walt reflects on his career in consulting and shares insights into the personal and professional benefits of engaging in non-profit service, volunteering on an organizational board, and serving with the Fraternity.
