Congratulations to member Jaxson Hall of the colony at Shenandoah University on being selected for the 2026 Virginia Governor’s Fellows Program. Chosen from the largest applicant pool in the program’s history, Hall is one of just 30 students and recent graduates statewide selected for the prestigious eight-week fellowship, which provides hands-on experience working alongside the Governor’s administration and cabinet officials. Hall earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Shenandoah in just three years while excelling as a student-athlete, student leader, and campus volunteer. Following the fellowship, he will begin graduate studies in clinical psychology at American University, with long-term aspirations of becoming a sport psychologist while continuing to serve through public service and mental health advocacy.

Last November, members of the Sigma Nu colony at Shenandoah University helped organize a successful campus food drive. Thanks to the generosity of everyone who participated, the colony collected 680 food items for donation to the Congregational Community Action Project (CCAP) in downtown Winchester, Va.

Hi Rickety to a growing Legion of Honor! On September 18, Sigma Nu Fraternity pinned 20 candidates at Shenandoah University. This is the Fraternity’s first class of new members as we seek to establish a brand-new chapter at the university. This year, Sigma Nu, alongside Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity and Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, will establish the first social fraternity and sorority community in Shenandoah University’s history. The Candidate Ceremony was conducted by five local Sigma Nu alumni. Alumni present were Richard Kurzenkabe (Virginia Wesleyan), Tim Ott (Mount Union), Robert Marias (Villanova), Patrick McCray (Ball State), Frank Ball (Davidson), and General Fraternity staff member Noah Frank (Purdue). University leaders, including Director of Student Leadership & Engagement Alex Johnson and Assistant Director Brooke Moses, joined alumni and student guests for a celebratory dinner following the ceremony. With their pinning complete, the Fraternity now turns its attention to new member orientation and the path toward petitioning for a charter.
