Brother Jack McDonough of the Delta Tau Chapter at Oregon State University was recognized with the Beacon of Hope Mental Health Champion Award during the university’s Out of the Darkness Campus Walk on April 18, 2026. Presented by Oregon State’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), the award honors individuals whose leadership and advocacy foster a more supportive, connected campus community. A speech communications student, Sigma Nu brother, and co-president of the student organization Dam Worth It, Jack has been a passionate advocate for mental health awareness both within athletics and across campus. As a Movember Ambassador, he raised more than $1,500 for men’s mental health initiatives and helped lead Alpha Upsilon’s participation in the Out of the Darkness Campus Walk, where the chapter raised more than $2,900 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In addition to his work supporting mental health, Delta Tau Chapter continued its commitment to philanthropy by hosting its annual Legends of the Lawn event benefiting the Center Against Rape and Domestic Violence.

Delta Tau Chapter alumni enjoyed a strong showing at the Oregon State Beaver Baseball games in Surprise, Arizona from February 13-16, as brothers from multiple eras gathered to cheer on the Beavers and reconnect in brotherhood. A group of alumni also continued a longtime tradition by renting a house together during the trip, many sporting custom caps supplied by Brother Doug Penney.

Over 30 Alumni and a number of spouses were greeted by the Delta Tau Chapter during Oregon State University’s Homecoming on Oct. 11. For a few of them, it was their first time back in the house in quite a long time. The chapter was also visited by an alumnus from the Epsilon Nu Chapter at Miami University in Ohio. The alumnus’s son is currently considering OSU for his college education. Homecoming attendees were able to view the new improvements to the chapter home and visit with fellow alumni and collegiate brothers.
