On Saturday, March 29, Jam for Cam hosted its second annual “Jam in the Streets,” welcoming more than 30,000 attendees and raising over $1.2 million for melanoma prevention and awareness. Established by the Mu Chapter in memory of Brother Cameron Fearon, Jam for Cam has evolved into an independent nonprofit, expanding beyond its original battle-of-the-bands concept into a multi-event initiative focused on both awareness and action. Many Sigma Nu brothers remain actively involved as volunteers and leaders, including Mu Chapter Philanthropy Chairman and Jam for Cam Executive Director Sumner Kirsch. This year’s event featured 19 performers, including headliner Goose, and transformed Washington Street into a vibrant, large-scale community celebration. In addition to the main concert, Jam for Cam broadened its impact through a series of complementary events, including a sold-out Battle of the Bands showcasing UGA student talent, a creator panel hosted in partnership with the University of Georgia Entrepreneurship Program and Creature Comforts Brewing Company, and more than 500 free skin cancer screenings. Last fall, candidates from the Mu Chapter at the University of Georgia traveled to Lexington, Va., for a meaningful pilgrimage to the Fraternity’s headquarters and the site of Sigma Nu’s founding at Virginia Military Institute. Now initiated as brothers, the men spent the weekend deepening their understanding of the Fraternity’s history and origins in the very place where it all began. Chapter brothers Forrest Krivsky and Edwin Perrault accompanied the group on the trip, helping guide the experience and share in the learning. The chapter extends a sincere thank you to Mu Chapter alumnus and Past Regent John Hearn for his generous support in helping make this memorable and impactful journey possible.

This rare recognition celebrates John’s extraordinary leadership, commitment to collaboration, and lasting impact on the employee benefits industry.

Congratulations and Hi Rickety to Mu Chapter alumnus Josh Chapman on his appointment as Chair of the University of West Georgia Foundation Board of Trustees. A principal at RaLin Construction and the Linco Companies, Josh brings decades of leadership experience and a lifelong connection to UWG, where both his parents are alumni. In his new role, he will help guide the Foundation’s efforts to advance student scholarships and strengthen the university’s future.
