Issue: Summer 2026
This spring, the Gamma Alpha Chapter at Georgia Tech continued its annual tradition of hosting The Walk in partnership with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, bringing together more than 100 brothers and members of the Georgia Tech community to raise awareness and support for suicide prevention. Established more than five years ago in memory of a brother who died by suicide, the event has grown from a chapter initiative into a meaningful campus tradition centered on mental health advocacy and community support. Held on Tech Green, the walk symbolizes the strength of a community standing together to encourage open conversations about mental health and reduce stigma. Through individual fundraising efforts supported by alumni, family, and friends, Gamma Alpha has raised more than $30,000 to advance the mission of suicide prevention and remains committed to expanding the event’s impact across campus and beyond.
Issue: Spring 2026
This spring, the Gamma Alpha Chapter at Georgia Institute of Technology hosted its Yellow Jacket Vintage Market. Proceeds from the second-hand clothing fundraiser benefited the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Caribbean American Cultural Arts Foundation.
Issue: Winter 2026
Last fall, the Gamma Alpha Chapter hosted its inaugural SNULYMPICS Olympic-style powerlifting competition, bringing fraternities from across campus together for a powerful cause – suicide prevention and awareness. Held at the chapter house on October 12, the event welcomed all Greek organizations to compete, cheer on participants, and enjoy food and fellowship. In its first year, SNULYMPICS drew teams from five additional fraternities, along with many supporters from the broader campus community. Through ticket sales, food purchases, and on-site fundraising, the event raised $1,500 in support of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Andrew Collins Project. By combining friendly competition with meaningful philanthropy, the chapter launched what it hopes will become a lasting tradition – one that promotes brotherhood, wellness, and advocacy for mental health awareness.
