On May 12, brothers from the Delta Kappa Chapter got together at Sean’s House, a Delaware safe haven offering mental health resources, for the group’s first Gather & Grow event. Together, the members shared a meal while listening to their peer mentors talk about the story behind Sean’s House and the importance of mental health.

The Legion of Honor proudly welcomed the return of the Delta Kappa Chapter at the University of Delaware this past weekend, re-chartering with an impressive 86-man refounding class. Festivities began with a campus tour and welcome reception on Friday, followed by initiation and a formal chartering banquet on Saturday. The weekend’s Ritual team included Regent Steve Ratterman (Indiana), Chapter Advisor and Alumni Chapter Commander Jeff VandePoele (Delaware), Stephen Judge (Delaware), Division Commander Sean Killion (Jefferson), and Ryan Ewing (Drury). The celebration concluded with a black-tie banquet featuring remarks from alumni and Fraternity leaders – including past colony Commanders Matthew Treon and AJ Cooper – and the presentation of the inaugural Delta Kappa Alumni Recognition Award to Brother VandePoele in honor of his dedication to the chapter’s successful re-charter.

This fall, the members of the Delta Kappa Colony at the University of Delaware hosted a canned food drive and fundraiser benefiting the Food Bank of Delaware. Led by Community Service and Philanthropy Chairman Alex Shives, the colony donated more than 300 pounds of food and raised $500 in support of the food bank. The colony also has exciting news to share: Delta Kappa’s petition for chartering was recently approved by the High Council. The chapter’s re-chartering ceremony is tentatively planned for April and will mark the official return of the Delta Kappa Chapter to the University of Delaware.

This past December, the Delta Kappa Chapter hosted an alumni luncheon bringing together brothers from the 1960s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, and the current class of seniors. The senior members had the opportunity to connect with Sigma Nu alumni, share stories, and build meaningful relationships across generations.

In September, members of the Delta Kappa Colony at the University of Delaware partnered with the Alpha Phi chapter to host their semesterly charity car wash. Proceeds from the event benefited the Newark Fire Department, supporting local first responders and strengthening the chapter’s connection to the community.
