A new endowed scholarship at the University of Arkansas is honoring the women whose encouragement and support have helped shape generations of Sigma Nu members. Established through a $25,000 gift from Gamma Upsilon Chapter alumnus Jason Gaskill, the Sigma Nu Women of the White Rose Endowed Scholarship was created in memory of Theresa Pascal Fender, a University of Arkansas graduate and former Sigma Nu Little Sister who passed away in 2025 after battling pancreatic cancer. The scholarship recognizes the mothers, sisters, sweethearts, spouses, and other women whose influence reflects Sigma Nu’s enduring values of love, honor, and respect. Inspired by his lifelong friendship with Theresa’s husband, Brother David Fender, Gaskill hopes the scholarship will both preserve Theresa’s legacy and inspire other Sigma Nu alumni to honor the Women of the White Rose who have made a lasting impact on their own lives while supporting future University of Arkansas students.
