Lexington, Va. – Sigma Nu Fraternity is aware of a photo of three members of the Kappa Pi Chapter at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo dressed in an offensive manner.

The conduct exhibited by these members is not congruent with the principles of the Fraternity. The Fraternity has suspended the membership of these three individuals, pending the completion of its investigation.

Thus far, the Fraternity’s investigation has confirmed the image in question was taken at a social event not affiliated in any way with Sigma Nu Fraternity or the Kappa Pi Chapter.

The Fraternity shares the Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo community’s concerns regarding this incident. The Fraternity will take further appropriate action upon completion of its investigation.

Headquartered in Lexington, Va., Sigma Nu Fraternity was founded in 1869 at Virginia Military Institute.
