Lexington, Va. – Sigma Nu Educational Foundation announces the departure of Bradley L. Hastings (West Georgia) as its President.  Based on a desire to relocate closer to family and seek new opportunities, Hastings made the decision to resign his position with the Foundation, effective June 30, 2017.

Hastings, an initiate of Theta Pi Chapter at the University of West Georgia, served on the staff of Sigma Nu Fraternity from 2001 until 2006 in a variety of capacities.  In 2007, he was named President of Sigma Nu Educational Foundation.  During his tenure with the Foundation, the Foundation expanded its base of donors, received its largest individual gift, created a vision and fundraising plan for a new educational facility for the Headquarters campus in Lexington, Va., and was recognized for its achievements by the North American Interfraternity Conference Foundation (NICF).

Foundation Chairman Al Wurster (Purdue) stated, “We are deeply grateful for Brad’s years of selfless service to Sigma Nu and appreciate the opportunity to work closely with him in the coming weeks to ensure a successful transition.  We wish Brad and his family all the very best in their future endeavors.”

Wurster noted the Foundation’s Personnel Committee will be responsible for identifying Hastings’ successor.  The Foundation’s board of directors asked Joe Gilman (Morehead State/Georgia) to take on the role of interim President of the Foundation until a successor is on board.  Effective immediately, Gilman has been appointed interim President of the Foundation.  Gilman, a retired AT&T executive, is a past Regent of the Fraternity and past Chairman of the Foundation.  “During this transitional period, we will continue to advance our mission of providing support for the educational programs of Sigma Nu Fraternity thanks to the ongoing generous support of our Brothers and friends across the world,” Wurster said.

Sigma Nu Educational Foundation, Inc. is a public charity that secures and provides enduring resources to support the educational and charitable initiatives of Sigma Nu Fraternity.
