Marshal Resources

Congratulations on being elected Marshal!

As Marshal, you are responsible for working with the chapter's LEAD Chairman to implement and run Phase I of the LEAD Program. Phase I is Sigma Nu's Candidate Education Program. It gives Candidates a foundation of knowledge about Sigma Nu history, leadership, values and ethics, and teamwork. Your role as Marshal is essential to the success of the program and in the education of Candidates. You have the opportunity to shape the future of your chapter and members through your involvement with the program.

Your responsibilities as Marshal related to the LEAD Program are:

  • Attend all the Phase I LEAD Sessions with the Candidate Class
  • Chair the LEAD Committee for the Chapter
  • Recruit outside facilitators for Phase I LEAD sessions
  • Take attendance at Phase I LEAD sessions
  • Read and respond to any LEAD reflection questions from the Candidates
  • Personally facilitate 3-4 Phase I LEAD Sessions
  • Attend a LEAD Institute Training Program
  • Report completed Phase I LEAD sessions (through the Sigma Nu website)
  • Promote the LEAD Program to the Candidates and the rest of the chapter

Getting Started with Phase I

To familiarize yourself with the LEAD Program, you should take the following steps:

  • Review the LEAD Phase I Facilitator Manual.
  • Review any and all information regarding the LEAD Program that your chapter Commander has received from Headquarters.
  • Sign up for the Sigma Nu LEAD Listserv. To do this, go to http://sigmanulead.listbot.com and enter your name and email address.

Reporting LEAD sessions

To continue to improve the LEAD Program, we need your comments and suggestions. By reporting the LEAD sessions that your chapter completes, you are helping to give us valuable information. Reporting sessions is easy and can be done by completing the interactive form under the LEAD Chairman section on the website.
