The Beta Xi Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity at William Jewell College was founded in 1894 and, since that time, our more than 1200 initiates have been paving the way for student leaders on campus. The chapter’s beautiful house is a sign of our member’s commitment to Sigma Nu and the University over the years. And, although the chapter closed in the spring of 2002, we made a return to campus in the fall of 2007.
Today, the Beta Xi Colony is working on earning its charter back, after which the members will be initiated and recognized as re-founding fathers. Throughout this recolonization process, the colony is relying on its strong commitment to the ideals of Sigma Nu to ensure that the future of the Beta Xi Chapter will be bright.
Sigma Nu is committed to its founding principles of Love, Honor and Truth, and has stood in firm opposition to hazing since being founded in 1869 at the Virginia Military Institute. We are looking for outstanding men who want to get involved on campus, gain valuable leadership skills and training, develop themselves personally and professionally, create meaningful and lifelong relationships and get the most out of their collegiate experience.
This is going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity to build a truly outstanding organization and create a legacy of honor. The traditions started here will be known 50 to 100 years from now and will be started by the men who join today.
