J. Wells Ellenberg
Wells Ellenberg, Mu Chapter (Georgia), serves as the Foundation’s young alumnus director. A native of Saint Simons Island, Georgia, he earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with honors from the University of Georgia. While in college, Wells served as commander, leading Mu Chapter to its second-consecutive Rock Chapter Award and Sigma Nu’s first-ever North-American Interfraternity Conference Chapter Award of Distinction. Additionally, he was selected as a Collegiate Grand Councilman and Alpha Affiliate. Wells is the recipient of the 2014 NIC Undergraduate Award of Distinction, 2013 Southeastern Interfraternity Conference Gregory R. Singleton Fraternity Man of the Year Award and 2012 Sigma Nu Man of the Year Award.
In his professional life, Wells serves as a governmental affairs associate at Southern Company, America’s premier energy company. In this role, he supports the company’s political, legislative and regulatory activities. Previously, Wells managed John McCallum’s campaign for the United States House of Representatives.
Wells currently resides in Washington, DC, where he serves as president-elect of the Georgia State Society. He previously served on the board of directors of the UGA Athletic Association and the Fraternity and Sorority Political Action Committee.
